Цифровая подстанция 500 кВ Тобол – важнейшее звено в системе электроснабжения нефтехимического комплекса глубокой переработки углеводородного сырья. Для повышения эффективности и качества диспетчерского управления режимами энергосистемы на подстанции установлена система мониторинга переходных режимов СМПР (англ. Wide Area Measurement System, WAMS). Она основана на использовании синхронизированных векторных измерений и позволяет проводить мониторинг динамических свойств энергосистемы в центрах управления ОАО «СО ЕЭС». В состав СМПР ПC 500 кВ Тобол входят устройства синхронизированных векторных измерений УСВИ (англ. PMU) ЭНИП-2, концентраторы синхронизированных векторных данных КСВД (англ. PDC) ES-PDC, подсистема диагностики СМПР, подсистема гарантированного электропитания. Система обеспечения единого времени основана на блоке коррекции времени ЭНКС-2 для приема сигналов навигационных спутниковых систем (ГЛОНАСС, GPS).
